Basic Safety Training (BST) is an essential certification for professionals pursuing a career in the wind energy industry. The training program consists of the following five mandatory modules:
● Working at Heights (WAH): Learn the correct use of fall protection equipment in wind turbine environments, and acquire standard procedures for safe operations and emergency rescue at height.
● Sea Survival (SS): Develop essential offshore survival skills, including man-overboard response and the proper use of lifesaving equipment, while ensuring safe transfer between vessels and offshore wind facilities.
● Fire Awareness (FAW): Identify potential fire hazards in wind farm environments and learn how to operate firefighting equipment, as well as follow correct emergency evacuation and escape procedures.
● First Aid (FA): Learn to conduct safe and effective initial first aid assessments and apply critical lifesaving techniques in offshore wind environments, helping to bridge the time until professional medical assistance arrives.
● Manual Handling (MH): Develop correct lifting techniques and risk awareness to prevent musculoskeletal injuries when working in confined spaces within wind turbines.
