【MTIC News】Research on "Drowning Detection in UAVs and AI Image Recognition" was published in international journal

In collaboration with the Tainan City and Kaohsiung City Government Fire Bureau, the MD Lab, Industrial Design Department, NCKU, and Fast Create International Corporation, MTIC by MIRDC’s "Rsearch on Real-Time Drowning Detection in Open Water Using UAVs and AI Image Recognition " was published in Drones, an SCIE Q1 international journal.

The AI model achieved a (mAP@0.5) of 0.991, demonstrating strong detection performance even under challenging conditions such as water reflections, low illumination, complex backgrounds, and low-contrast targets.

Through the integration of UAV technology, AI image recognition, and real-world rescue scenarios, MTIC continues to strengthen intelligent water rescue capabilities and support safer, faster emergency response.
